First aid is based on knowledge, training and expertise. A first aider will have completed a practical training course under the supervision of a recognized first aid organization. Which will only help him or her became a good first aider. In each industrial location need a first aider.

The Labor Code Section 5401 defines first aid as “any one-time treatment and follow-up visit for the purpose of observation of minor scratches, cuts, burns, and splinters or other minor industrial injuries, which do not ordinarily require medical care.” This one-time treatment and follow-up of a work related injury or illness, where there is no lost time from work, is considered first aid even though treatment was provided by a physician.

Duty of first Aider

Make sure your current First Aid Certificate Information is posted at your Department’s First Aid Station, as a first aider you are expected to respond to first aid emergencies within the limits of your training and your skill, Report any first aid supplies needed to the person in charge of the First Aid Station, arrange without delay medical assistance.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration – OSHA Courses

The United States Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is an agency of the United States Department of Labor.
